Each can does 55 to 60 apples. Heat to 170 to 180 deg. F in a double boiler. For a smoother finish mix contents of 1 can with 6 oz unsweetened evaporated milk.
Apples should be purchased direct from a Produce Wholesaler and should not have any coatings. Apples purchased from Grocery Stores will have coatings that may cause the Caramel not to adhere properly to the apple.
